Not all kinds of interpreting are the same. There are several types of interpreting suitable for different settings of communication. Here you can find further information in order to make sure that we are on the same page right from the beginning when planning your event together.

Simultaneous interpreting

In simultaneous interpreting, the interpreter conveys what is said into another language more or less simultaneously. In this case, interpreters are the voice in the ears of the listeners. Simultaneous interpreting is particularly suitable for international conferences and events. For this type of interpretation certain technical requirements such as interpreting booths and microphones are necessary. We will be happy to advise you on this.

Consecutive interpreting

Consecutive interpreting includes a time delay. Speakers talk first followed by the interpreters. Be it individual words, sentences or even speeches for several minutes. Typical settings for consecutive interpreting are addresses, spreeches, conversations, interviews and all situations in which usually no technology apart from a microphone is used.

Whispered interpreting (Chuchotage)

Chuchotage is a form of simultaneous interpreting which is only suitable in certain settings, especially when only a few listeners need interpretation. In this case, the interpreter can whisper the interpretation into the ears of the people concerned, so there is no need for any technical equipment.

Liaison interpreting

Especially when listeners and interpreters have to move around, for example during interactive workshops or guided tours, it is impossible to interpret simultaneously from a booth. In this case, so-called tour guide systems are used. Listeners are equipped with receivers whereas the interpreters use mobile transmitters and microphones.

Remote Simultaneous Interpreting (RSI)

At least since the Covid pandemic, virtual events have become part of everyday life. Some popular platforms now also offer interpreting functions, so that multilingual communication can also be guaranteed. As with face-to-face events, the same applies to online events: Every conference is individual and needs an individual solution.
